Nablopomo Done!!!

I did it, I posted every day for the month of November!!! I'm so proud, I didn't think that it would be that hard, but it was. I'm glad I did it, but I don't know if I ever will again. I don't know what I'll do now that I don't have to post every day, I'm in a little bit of a routine.

For the November goals. Wow, that seems like a long time ago, that I made those goals

1.Finish the Perfect Sweater.
Not done. All I have left to do is one front, and the sew up. I need to work on this one. After I finish all of my Christmas presents
2.Finish the Thoroughbred Sweater.
Kind of done. I just have a million billion few ends to weave in. I have wore it, and all the visible ends are woven in, so I am counting this one done.

3.Finish at least five dishcloths.
Done. Some of them are scrubbies, but I count them because they are used to clean dishes.

4.Start and finish at least one baby anything.
Nope! What are you going to do to me, I didn't say that these things were mandatory. I think of these goals more as guide lines. Its not like anyone is going to die if I don't finish them. Knitting is a hobby after all, I say this kind of stuff to myself at least three times a day.

5.Finish at least two Christmas Presents.
Done. I have kind of lost track of how many presents I have done in this month. I can assure you that I have made over two, I just can't remember how many or which one. Oh, I did remember two of them, I swear that there was more than though. Number one was a pair of mitten for my Grandpa. Number two was this Firefly Scarf for my mother.

And Now for My December Goals.
1.Finish Dad's afghan
Piece of cake! As in it will be a piece of cake, that's not the pattern.

2. Make about three scrubbies.
The ones that I already gave away were all well received.

3.Finish all the stuff for my Swap partner.
This should be easy too. I just have like one and a half left to do. This has to be done by this weekend. If worst comes to worst I can just stay up really late Friday night.

4.Start and Finish Abby's poncho.
This, I'm not quite sure on. I've never made one before, so I don't know how long it will take.

5.Finish all of my Christmas mittens.
This will be a challenge, both pairs are Fair Isle. I am getting faster at this, but still not that fast. I have about one and a half done out of a total of four mittens. (two pairs, just to clarify)

This isn't a lot, But I want to achieve all of this so I'm not going to make any more. If I finish all of this, that means that I need to start to working on some of the WIPs that I have lying around here. I also would like to do some lace or a pair of mittens for myself. I only have one pair of plain mittens and I think that I need a nice pair for myself. Some spinning would be nice to do. I am almost done with that really pretty red roving.

The Claw

It is back. Yes, it is, my wrist is throbbing as I write this. Actually The Claw was back, but I didn't knit all evening and gave it a hot pad and have been babying it all morning. I am hoping that this will help, and once I finish giving you the blog thrills that you have become accustomed to I will go and google wrist massaging techniques.

I wished the Claw would have chosen a more convenient time to come back, I hope to have my swap partners socks done by this weekend when I get the casts off. That will mean that I can hand wash them and wrap them in a plastic bag to keep the smell of smoke out of them. This weekend will be the weekend where I get all of my swap partners stuff ready to mail. I plan on going to all this little bulk food store where they have tea and other yummies. Also go to the Hobby Lobby to. Though I would rather go to Jo-Anns, I don't trust Mormons, and I have heard a lot of bad things about the way that the owner of the Hobby Lobby treats his employs.

One more day of Nablopomo. Yayyyyy!!!!!!

Moving along

I swear that I say that phrase to much. In reality nothing is moving along. Nablopomo is stil going and making me deeply regret the day that I said I would do it. Deeply, I cannot come up with words on how much I hate this. And I can't even walk, so you naturally think that I would love something that I do everyday to take my mind off my troubles. AAANNNNTTTT!! Wrong. Way Wrong. I just find it had to come up with funny stuff for just a few minutes every day. I can't even imagine how comedy writers feel. That must be one of the hardest jobs in the world.

I am starting to get in a panic about all the WIP around this house. While I was getting dressed this morning I did a little mental count and I came up with.....17!

Ack, 17 WIP! I tried to calm myself down a little, I did count all the stuff that needed a little fringe or a few ends woven in, but still, that is a lot. This is also not a good time of year, to start worring about all the stuff that needs done. What with christmas, that number will probrobly increase soon. I must start to tackle this stuff soon. Hopefully I will get a lot of stuff done in time for christmas. Then I will have to get a lot of stuff done during that week in between Christmas and the New Year, then maybe (Maybe!) I can go into the New Year, with under ten. And than who knows, I might be able to get this down to under ten in the new Year. I don't think that all of this will get done by then, but at least I have a plan.

how long

I wonder how long I will be able to entertian you on posts consisting of ten or more words.

I don't think that I will be able to do it for much longer.

The plain socks for my swap partner are past the heel.

Someone just pulled up the drive way got to go.

Bye!!

Thank you

P.S. Try not to walk on your casts so much, your wearing out the soles of the casts

Day twenty-three

I can't believe that I have been posting every day for twenty-three days. I feel like it has been forever.

Last night I got a lot of spinning done, I mean a lot. As of right now, I have spun enough for a pair of socks, but I think that I will keep going. (well, I do have a lot more of that roving left) Maybe (maybe) I will have enough for a lace shawl, a really small lace shawl. Man I wish I could post pictures of the beautiful fiber, I also wish that I could remember what it was.

Let me just tell everyone that the bathrooms in the Whole Day Cafe are really hard to get in and out of when you are in a wheel chair. Getting in was not the hard part, (I remember thinking as I got in that it would be easy to get out, famous last words) getting out was. I went for it with the front of me first but the door wouldn't swing out far enough and I couldn't back up any farther. So I ended up dragging the chair with me in it 90degrees and  backing out.

I am at the toe on the Andromeda sock. Ready to graft it up and start the next one.

Let me be the first to say, that I hate plying with a hand spun yarn.

Random Facts of the Day:
59. I have a homemade Drop-Spindle
60. I am secretly hoping that it snows soon
61. I hate it when any room doesn't get a lot of natural light.

Break my Ass!

Yeah, I thought that knitting on that afghan would be a break. Never mind the fact that I hate that afgan with the white hot fury of a thousand suns, a little. Lets just say I went back to socks running (well, as fast as I can run now, which I'm not really supposed to do, only walk if necessary, to quote the doctor.

But it is Tuesday, Spinning day!! (I can't believe that I am actually happy about this, see what a soul crushing blanket can do to you) I will be working on the same wonderful, wool roving that I am always making. This is another one for the swap partner, hope she likes it.

Random facts of the Day:
56. I wash my face an odd number of times.
57. I squeeze my toothpaste from the middle.
58. I am a terrible insomniac.

A break kind of

I need a break from socks. I know, that yesterday, I yaked on and on about how fast they were and how easy they were, but now, I am sick of them, and I'm not even done. So I decided that I could knitt on something else, but only if that thing is, The reason that I don't sleep at night and the reason why I band my head into the wall every five minutes Dad's Afgan. This is the most boring thing that I have ever knit in my entire life. It started out as a little chrocheted Ganny square, then, once I got so tired of it that I decided to knit the rest of it.

Now, for those of you who know my dad, know that he is not at all a fussy person. He likes them plain and simple. Plain and simple are not in my Vocabulary. But I bit the bullet, and designed  it so that tringle would shoot of the center square and be attached by a border. The reason that I choose triangles is becaue of my undying love for anything that allows rows to get smaller. All well and good in thought right? Did I mention that I thought up this plan in july, and it took me this long to get the triangles. ( Not to mention that the original square was started in February) But today, I am proud to reaport that I am done with the triangles. I have picked up the border and it is sitting by my chair as I type this.

I am going to go, Its time for Desperate Housewives. I'm not going to so Random Things, Its my day off!!

Good time

I am making wonderful time on the Andromeda socks that my swap partner will love. I started these beautiful little puppies friday, it is sunday and I am past the foot decreases. I have about three more inches to do till I get to the toe. I forgot that socks go really fst when you work on them and nothing else. Project Monogamy, what a novel concept, there may be something to that.

Random Facts of the day:
53. I will never be a one project at a time knitter.
54. Outside of a text message using i for I, really bothers me.
55. I wish that I could talk on the phone and knit at the same time.

Ahead

No, I'm not ahead, on anything important, like school, writing, but, you guessed it, knitting (it is pretty safe to assume that I am doing this for a long time). I finished the first number one husband sock. I'll give you the sats once I finish the next one.

On a related note, I have started the Andromeda socks, I'm about four inches into a six inch pattern. I'm  loving the lace patterns, and I feel so smart about making cables without a cable needle. I hope to be on the heel by Monday.

Last night I almost saw a return of the Claw. You know what the claw is and don't you deny it. For those of you who are pretending to be ignorant on the subject of the claw, the claw is manifestation of all evil. The Claw is when your hand gets so stiff from knitting that you can't use it. It likes to surface around this time of year, at least with me. Like last year when I was knitting a thanksgiving sweater that was not only to short for me and still remains unfinished to this day. Some times it just comes back in a big way, like with that sweater. Other times it comes back in a little way. It usually starts out in a Little way, and if it remains untreated, then it will come in a big way. I have only had the big Claw once and know every time that I feel it returning I put down the knitting and don't touch it till the next morning. That is the best defense.

Random facts of the Day:
50.  I love Italian food.
51. I am very Romantic.
52. I save homemade stitch markers, as in the kind made out of yarn.

Lists

It is getting harder and harder to post every day. I know you hear me whine about this stuff all the time. Yada yada yada, what else is new. I actully do think of stuff to post, just I don't remember it. So today I have made a list. What is this "list" thing you ask. Well, two days ago I really started to freak out about Christmas,(by freak out I mean sit on bed at night and stare at the wall) So last night I made a list and I was actully smart enough to save it and share it with all of you. Are you on the edge of you seat yet. Cause you should be. Oh, I probobly should tell you what the list is all about. It is everyone I making presents for and what I have done.

Dad-Hat, Blanket
The hat is done and the Blanket is almost done.

Mom-Fingerless gloves, hat, Firefly Scarf
A few ends to be woven in and it will be done

Gona ( My mothers mother)-Citron, mittens, and dishclothes
Citron just needs a few tassels, the dishclothes are done. The mittens are another story, almost to the top of the first one. I only do a few rows of these a day, because they are Fair Isle and really slow going.

Grandpa-Scarf, mittens, dishclothes, and possibly a hat
All done exept for the possibile hat.

Brianna-Purse, mittens scarf
The purse needs to be felted more, the mittens need to be started, but the scarf is completly done.

I also should have a few emergency presents and I kind of have a poncho to make for someone.

So, you can see that I'm not in that big of a hurry. Not in a hurry about christmas I mean. I am in a hurry about my swap though. You see, I want to make my partner these Andromeda socks. They call for a size 2.5mm(us 1) and My only size one is in the Number One Husband Socks so I have to finish at least the first one before I can start the socks for my partner. I set a deadline for Saturday night. I should make it, I am just after the heel.

Random Facts of the day: (I am really feeling the love from lists)
47.I always stay up to late.
48.My secret ingrident in cookies is some tea that has been brewed. (by tea I mean the water, not the leaves)
49.I really don't like kids very much.

Temporary defeat

I have admitted it, I have been, temporally defeated by a certain Harlot's Snowdrop Shawl. Note that I said temporarlly defeated. I am going to make something else for my swap partner, and come back to it later, much, much later. I had problems, with the way I copied my chart, I have ripped the entire thing out not once, but twice. So I will come back to this, later. Mark my words, I may have lost the battle, but I will win the war.

Speaking of lost, I lost a dpn last night at the Knotty Knitters, at Barnes and Nobles. I started the heel while I was there and I thought that I tucked it into the other sock, but later that night, when I needed it I looked for it and couldn't find it. Thankfully I had some other needles in that size. it just feels a little weird to have three of one kind and then one plastic one with them. Ah, The life of a knitter.

I only overslept a half hour this morning and it feels like I have so much extra time. Could you imagine if I would not oversleep at all, or even, God forbid, get up early. I could be running my own business, by the time I'm twenty. World domination, by the time I'm forty. I should find some drug that keeps me from having to sleep at all. Imagine the possibilities.

Random Facts of the Day:
44.I love bad TV shows, that were canceled way to soon. They weren't very funny, but for some odd reason I loved them. I still miss Eastwick. only half a season.
45.Whenever I get into a fight I always stay up that night thinking about all the stuff that I wished I had said.
46. I taught myself how to do a lot of knitting stuff out of books. My point by saying this is not to make my self feel better about the demonic shawl from hell, but to point out that my pronunciation is almost always off.

2 Banes

There are two banes of my existence now. Bane number one is the cast, which are my fourth set. Bane number two is the lace shawl for my swap partner. Bane number one I am used to. Bane number two is driving me nuts. At first I tried the facing lilies stole from last springs Interweave. That did not work out so well. So then I tried to design my own. Lets just say that I wasted a whole day of my life trying to do this., Now, I am trying the Snowdrop shawl which is hell-bent to take at least ten years off my life. I am not even on the snowflakes yet and I have already ripped the entire thing out twice.

Thank god that I didn't have to worry about it yesterday, because I spent the whole day spinning some yarn for my swap partner. It is still not completely finished, but I like to think that it will be by this time next week

Stay tuned, you might hear of a finished sweater sometime soon. Remember, I said might.

I swear Dancing with the stars is rigged. I mean Brandy sent home and Bristol stayed. It is rigged I tell you. And you know who is at the bottom of it. Sarah Palin.

Random Facts of the Day:
41.It really bothers me when people use their forks to get butter out of the container.
42.I am trying not to be as critical as I usually am, but it is hard.
43. I always oversleep

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

So?

I got a cold.

The Doctor does not want to operate on me until I get better.

The Anesthesiologist thinks that he should wait until December 6 for the surgery.

The lace shawl I started has gone horribly wrong.

I am in casts again.

On the bright side, I stole a pair of hospital pants, that are really comfortable. It wasn't stealing, just taking what was owed to me. What were they going to do, send the hospital police after me.

Random facts of the Day:
38. I hate it when people talk about the end of the world.
39. I have a really hard time thinking about what to put on this list.
40. I love scented candles

Good News

Well, the news is not nessesarly good or bad, just kind of blah. The Throughbred Sweater is almost done. All that is left to do is the colar and sewing the sleves in. I hope to finish it to today, but that might be streaching it a little.  I know that you are probrobly tired af me complainig about the lack of blog insperation, but I really don't have any. I just want to quite posting every day. At least I didn't sign up for Nakniswemo (the thing where you knit a sweater in the month of november, like Mary did, she jonesing for blog fodder, more than I am).

Random facts of the day:
32.I always spell sleves sleaves
33.I recently mastered the ability to knit and talk on the phone.
34.I am both a night owl and a morning person. Because of this, I am tired a lot.

Something Finished

I did it, I actually finished something. The Firefly scarf is now done. This feels great, I have finished another Christmas present. Now, all I have to do is finish Dad's Afghan, some dishcloths and Gonna's Fair Isle Mittens, and I will be done with Christmas. The mittens are progressing nicely and I am almost done with the first one. I love to work on them, they just make me feel smart, that's not a feeling that I am used to. E-mail me if you want the pattern, but I doubt anyone will want to make it without a picture. I may talk more about it later, You have to space these things out.

Random facts of the day.
29. I use the backspace key a lot.
30. I rareley use facebook anymore
31.When I am bored, I read the archives of knitting blogs

(Yes, this is a short entry, but I am in a hurry,.)

Why??

Why did I ever sign up for Nablopomo? What was I thinking. The month is almost half over and I am out of blog fodder. Gone, completely gone. I need to do small projects, not big ones. So if I ever want to sign up for anything like this ever again, I want you to remind me about this time. Not that I will listen, but your mission, should you choose to except it, is to keep me from saying that I will do something every day. (of course there are things that I say I do every day, like brush my teeth and knit) Do not ever let me sign up for Nablopomo again (I actually didn't register for it, I just did it on a whim). At least on Monday I will get a brake from posting, because of my surgery. I think that it is a valid excuse.

Random facts of the day:
26. I wait for a cup of coffee to get cool enough and I down it in like three drinks.
27. I can't sleep when there is a person who is awake in the same room.
28.I look at my hands while I type, but I type surprisingly fast.

It is getting harder

What is it getting harder to do? To think of interesting stuff to post. (Okay, I realize that interesting is a bit of a streach, but do you want to make something of it?) So why don't we do a goals update to let you see how I'm doing on my goals. Oh, Thats right, I have only finished one. This goals thing is bad for my self-estem, but that doesn't mean that I will quite doing it. I know that one of these months I will finish all my goals, and I will feel really great about myself. ( check back around 2026 if you're waiting for that date) To be fair though, I am only in the second week of the month and I am so close to finishng another goal that I can almost smell it. Why am I rambling on about goals? I blame people like Mary and Dawn, for giving me this silly idea to post every day in November. Tomorrow's post will be about ten letters just so you know. It will still count as a posting though.

Random facts of the day:
23.I hate it when you in a car and you stop while going up a hill
24.I love sock monkeys
25.My favorite TV show is friends

Spinning and Surgery

So, I didn't get a lot of spinning done this week. just some of this really pretty red wool that I got at Sallys last spring and have never gotten around to spinning. Again, I just spun about half an ounce, in between Doctors appointments and various errands and whatnot.

So, I found out when my Surgery on my feet is going to be. On Monday, the fifth, that is this Monday, as in four days. The surgery isn't until noon, so I will probably be able to post on Monday morning and Tuesday evening. Is it bad that When I go in for surgery my biggest worry is how I will post (It isn't, but thats the only one I'm sharing). They have to do two operations on my right leg and one on my left leg. They will do on e on each leg on Monday and the rest in six weeks when I'm healed from the last one. I won't go into all the specifics about what they have to do to my right leg, but it is pretty gruesome. As in there will be pins sticking out of my toes to fix the arch on my right foot. They have cut bones and everything.

But there is a good thing about this; the surgery is timed perfectly. It will happen, when the sun goes into Pieces, the astrological sign associated with the feet and legs. In Geccan mythology, the sun was associated with Apollo, the god of healing and Medicine. In Pagan folklore, the sun was associated with the horned god, What animal has horns? A Bull, I am a Taurus, who was the bull. Also, the Moon will be a Apogee, meaning that it is farthest from earth. This means that the sun will have the greatest influence on earth.

Random Facts of the day:
20.I have never been under Anesthesia before.
21. If you haven't already noticed, I am a terrible speller
22.I love chocolate wafer cookies.

Knitting Content

I finally have some of that for you. One Christmas present is done. Done! Done! Done!It was the Mittens that I was making for my Grandpa. They were plain black, and done with a really old pattern that I got out of some book at a yard sale. The pattern wanted them to be kint flat and seamed up later. But I didn't want to do this, because I hate seeming on anything small, and on anything that it is not for me. I don't mind doing something small like a sweater, but I don't like to do things for other people. The sweaters that I make are always for me and I juat find seeming them is just more fun for me. Back to my (not mine) mittens, I cut the yarn for this project really close, I mean really close. When I was done with them I had about a yard of yarn left over. The mittens are a little different because I fuged some of the decreases. (the pattern was in double knitting, mine was singular) But I think that it worked out so I hope that he likes them.

My next mitten project is from Norweigian Handknits and its Fair Isle. This will be the first time that I have ever done a whole garmet (yes, mittens are garmets)in color work. They have a flower on the back that will be done in red with a white backround. I'll try and post a link somewhere on this page (I haven't quite gotten hold of the whole link thing)

Random facts of the Day:
17. I have to have all the towls hanging neatly in the kitchen.
18. Anne of Green Gables is my favorite book.
19. I get exited when ever the seasons change. Even if I really loved the season before, I get exited for the change.

Short but Sweet

I think that the title says it all. I intend for this to be a short but sweet post. I have to pee something fierce and I have absolutely no knitting content to report(try again tomorrow, there should be some then). But I never said every post would be the top dollar literature that you have come to expect.

Random facts of the day:
14.I hate mushrooms.
15.If there was any math that I had to do for a living it would be Geometry.
16.I have always wanted to be a Vegetarian

One Down, More to go

I did it.I finished one of my goals for this month. Who's the best,me, thats who. The goal that I finished is number three. I actually went over my monthly suggested amount, and did six of the things.

All right, I cannot keep up this sharde any longer, half of them are not dishcloths, but they're scrubbies. I know that was very wrong of me to try to pass them off as dishcloths, but I am one week into November and I haven't finished any goals yet. In all fairness, I will probably do some more for Christmas. I hate the things, but I know that people will love to get them, and that almost makes it worth my while. Almost. And in keeping with this fairness, they do clean dishes, and they are made of cloth so.... why can't they be considered as dishcloths.

Random Facts of the Day:
13.I keep a shawl by the side of my bed in case I can't sleep and I get up and I am cold.
14.I have my sock yarn stash on two different shelves. The top shelf is the good stuff, the bottom is the bad yarn .
15.When I type, I cannot stand to have the red and green lines in my work, even if I knew I have done nothing wrong. So usually end up running the spell check every other minute.

Finally

I did it. Last night around Nine-Thirty I finished my first handspun yarn, and it feels great.(I know, tuesday are for spinning, but I really wanted to spin, I had to take advantage of it) This roving is old, so old that I don't even remember what it is. All I know is that it is wool, that is it. Pretty sad right, but I am really exited. I can't wait until I can use this stuff. I would have cast on the pair of socks that it was destined for, if I hadn't had all the technical stuff to do(Wash it, and try to get some of the wrinkles out of it)I would have done it right then. As it is I'm going to have to wait until I get my casts off til I can do all technical stuff(Tuesday the ninth!!!)So it will be a while. I kind of want to finish some of the stuff that I had on my goals(there will be a finished goal tomorrow, A big round of virtual applause for the person who can guess which one)

Random Facts of the day
10.I have an issue with knitting bags. I always have to have a perfect one that can hold anything that I will possibly need and not look to bulky, or like a purse.
11.I always start my Christmas gifts early. Usually around the end of July, bu this year I got cocky and I now have to hope to have them all dine by mid December.
12.Whenever I get into a fight with someone I always stay up at night thinking about what I could have said.

I had an Idea

That idea is to replace all that dishclothes that I have to make with scrubbies insted. For the deprived among you. A scrubbie is something you can make to scrub pots and pans with, that looks like those things that you can but three for a doller at the groccery store. I decided that I could make a whole bunch of those to give away with the dishclothes. Their a lot(well, lot is a strech)of fun to make and I'm hoping that they break up the dish clothes monotiny. I realized the other days that I will be needing more dishclothes that I have planned now, so I will probrobly do mre that five in this month.

You will never guess what show I realized that I love yesterday. Desperate Housewives. Please don't juge or make fun of me, it can happen to the best of us. This is how it happened:I was trying to get a little work done (writing, not school work)and mom was sitting here, watcching TV and being a big anoyance. Then dad came down here and insted of changing thae channel, he sat and watched her show(he had juat woken up, what can you expect) When her show was over, Dad was still to weak,(actully he was on the phone I think) and he left the channel on. Then boom all of the sudden all three of us were hooked.

Random stuff of the day:

How did This Happen?

It is almost Ten-Thirty and I have been alone since I woke up at Seven-Thirty. Is this heaven? If it is I wonder how I died. I hope it was peaceful.

I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night. Just thought I should share that. I was up until about Two-Thirty. Do you realize how many times I have used the backspace key in this paraghraph, a lot, thats how much.(No these are not my random facts of the day)

I sighned up for a swap earlier this week.(I was saving it for blog fodder, so I wouldn't have to show you actull knitting contnt)The theme is Winter Solstice. I'm not yet sure who I will be matched up with. I just hope that I don't dissapoint my partner, I've never done one before, but I'm really exited. I just want to note here that Whatever I knit fot my partner will probrobly take the place in my goals of finishing the perfect sweater(link below). I'm so sick of the boring Stockingette that the majority of the body is composed of. Which leads me to the conclusion that the perfect sweater is not perfect, it is a pain in the ass. How can I call something perfect when I think it is a a giant pain. But alas who am I to disagree with the almighty Ann and Kay(Mason- Dixon Knitting on the side bar, they're not mighty enough for me to make another link to them)

Random Facts of the day:
4.Every time I start a sentence with the word the I always make the mistake of typing THe
5.Somtimes when I walk around town I sing to myself
6.I love to do dishes. This is a really wierd one I know, but I just like to turn on the radio and dance around while I do them.

(The link to The Perfect Sweater is on Ann and Kays side bar, I know I cheated, but making links scare me)

Out of topics already

I can't belive this, I am already out of stuff to talk about. What is this sort of crap, I should be blabbering about everything nonstop. It's day three, for crying out loud. I should have plenty to say. Ohhhh! I just thought of stuff.

Yesterdays Spinning-
I almost have spun enough for a pair of socks. I am tempted to just start knitting and spin more when I need it. I have never knit with handspun, and I'm really exited about it. I'll try to hold off the urge, but I'm not making promises.

I had an Idea(eveyone duck)on the days when I hve made no knitting progress, I should just tell Random facts about me. Hell, I'll do it even when I have knitting to talk about. How about three a day. Three is a very powereful number(can you tell I have watched a lot of Charmed now that I'm laid up)

1.I cannot stand Radio commercials under no circumstances will I listen to one.
2.I love to be home alone. I wish that I lived alone so that sort of thing could happen more often. But when you live in a house with three people, all one different shifts, it takes a fair amount of fannagallin.
3.Every night I imagine some ones arms rapped around me as I fall asleep. Sad isn't it.

9 more days till I can get my learners permit!!
Just thought I should share that!

Makeover

I made a few changes to my blog yesterday. I think that I like it, but I'm not entirley sure, please share your thoughts on this and any other thoughts about Garret Knits Ohio that you may want to share. I value others input.

I also decided that I should institute a new rule that I learned about from The Yarn Harlot. (link on the side bar) The rule about spinning on Tuesdays. I do spin with a drop spindle every once and a while, and I decided that I needed to get back in the habit of spinning occasionally.

So I dusted off the Drop Spindle(which is the best envention ever besides circular needles) and started spinning my old wool(so old I can't remember what it is) and am trying to spin enough for a pair of socks.

I think I might try nablopomo. You know the thing where you post every day for the month of November. I'm not offically registard for it, so if I fall off the wagon ( which is more than likley to happen) I just have to listen to my conscience berate me for it.

There goes that month

My poor abused computer is back, with a brand new screen and ready to take on the world. I got it back, like a week ago and I just figured that I would just skip over October and go straight to November. Sounds logical right? I hope so, but missing the second month of my poasting monthly goals is not a good way to start off a new system. I had an excuse though, I didn't have a computer, bloging with out a computer is hard.

So most of September's goals got finished, just not in September. But I will only count September as September, not September and October. So lets review September:

1.Crank out at least 7 dishclothes in various colors and sizes.
Done, It wasn't fun, but I did it and I'm all the better for it.

2.Finish the sleves to my perfect sweater.
Done, with the back and one of the fronts. It was like water gate tourture, but it is done and soon I will be the proud possesor of something made out of wool that has not acidentilly been felted.

3.Finish Gonna's Citron.
Done, but not with the tassels that I plan to put on it, I kept putting it off and putting it off, and it still is not done, and I doubt it ever will be.

4.Finish Leaves and vines Sock.
Done, but not in September. I improvised with some left over yarn, and I can't wait to have a chance to wear them.

5.Finish the Blueberry Waffles socks.
Sorry, ran out of yarn, but can't figure out what to improvise with.

6.Finish any Baby garmet.
Sort of, I did all the knitting, but I never sewed the buttons on.

So for the month of September, I give myself a C. Not to bad, right?

For the month of november my goals are as fallows:

1.Finish the Perfect Sweater.
2.Finish the Throughbred Sweater.
3.Finish at least five dishclothes.
4.Start and finish at least one baby anything.
5.Finish at least two Christmas Presents.

(Maybe do some socks or something, I'm no tgoing to put this down, just letting you know that socks may or may not happen)

It sounds like a lot, I know, but being Laid up and all frees up a lot of knitting time. And let it be known theat the Christmas gifts are the most important.(The dishclothes are Christmas presents)

Can I do it? YES I CAN!!
