More Socks

So after feeling a little, well odd I guess, i started another pair of socks. These socks are knit out of the left over yarn from that tesb i made an week ago. They are knit on size 0 needles, i have about 2 inches done on the first one. Since i have two sets of 0 dpns i decided that i should knit both of them at the same time, but there was only enough on the skien for one, so what do i do. I think way back and i remember winding a small ball of it when i first bought it so now i have enough yarn to knit both socks!

More Finished crap

I finished yet again another project, the socks on size 2 needles. It is a very bad thing when it no longer feels like a big thing when you finish some thing it feels just like a part of life.

So in the spirt of finishing being dull. I started a big old sweater that was in 20 mens patterns, the V-neck pullover with this tweedy wool that I picked up at jo-anns i got about half an inch of ribbing.

finally!!

So its done, its done, its done. as i speak it is wet bocking without pins. It is only now that i get an idea of why our great grandmothers all hated it when they had to go stand the sheep back up in the rain. This tesb is only 30% wool it wieghted ton when i hauled this tesb out of the tub. Why as this thing in the tub you ask? because it was the only place big enough to give it a good soak. i had to double it over in the spare room because i don't have the baseball field that is required to block that thing.

I needed some project to pick up and knit on so i decided to pick up a pair of socks that i started a few days ago. this is not the pair of socks that were knit on 00 needles and made out of flax and rayon. Theese are like good twin to thoose evil socks; they are made out of a divine combination of 50%superwash merino, 25% nylon and 25%bambooand are knit on size 2 circular needles. i don't know how much i like working on two cics better than dpns. While dpns are fiddly when you just start out they are nice when you have half a sock haning off of them. While two cics are are easier to start out with they get harder once you get miving with them the rest of the way .

slow deceases

That tesb is slowly decreasing down. I am down to about 150 stiches and considering all 300 that i started with it is moving right along. when i started this thing back in, this is sad i can't even remember when i started it, i remember i had intended that it would be a recangular shawl, but i realized that it would be a lot more work so i made it into a triangular shawl. i can recall that it was during Eastwick and it was the one where roxy's daughter's attemped rapist/boyfriend was fallowing roxy around calling her a whore. If any body remembers this please leave a comment with your information. Thank you!

even more

All right i did it i started a new project a pair of socks on two circular needles. It's a little different than the double points that i usually use. They are a liile easier than dpns when you just start out but if your using needles that still have thier curl in them it is impossible, you have to wrestle with them all the way. My recomendation is to buy used ones if at all possible.

The knit and crocheted shawl that i'm making(my parnents say this is a triangular european shoulder blanket, but i think that this is a lot to type so i will abrviate it tesb)i'm a little worried about the yarn on this but i will continue to drudge on and if God forbid i run out of yarn i will hope that sally(that is the name of the old lady that owns my Lys, luckly it is called Sally's shop) has some more.

knitting

Sorry about my lack of blogage but i'm dealing with slow computers and shaky internet connections this blog thing is getting harder to keep up with.

Anywho i'm knitting up a storm over here. my blanket is done and the ends wovwen in, it is quite warm. I started a sock made out of a combination of rayon and flax, it is knittied on size 00 needles. I put this one down because i realized that i would go nuts if i kept this up so i put it into the dead projects box. Tinking what with my new coat and all i deserved a new scarf so i found this fabouls yarn, it is a real tealy blue and is 50% wool and 50% acrillic it is knit2 pur2 ribbing and goes down to my knees.

He's back!!

All right here i am with my own computer again so lets take a look at the knitting that i've finished up with all my newly found free time.
The afgan is done, there i said it, this afgan, large enough for a grown man, only took about 6 weeks can you belive it, i can't.
I made a pair of mittens, they are red and acrillic and warm, i know that because i had to shovel the drive way the next day.
So i celebration of all this WIP reduction i decided i was worth a new pair of handknit socks os i started a pair of socks, they are knit on size 00 needles and are made out of a combination of linen and rayon. Wish me a look.
New books i have boughtin, i got a book called 20 Patterns for Men by Erica Knight, i like this book it has lots of classic mens desighns with some new ideas which look fabouluos.
New yarn i got at goodwill, i found two skeins of black cotton, two hanks of craft and rug which i will use to finish a rug, and some chrochet cotton that i can use for scribble lace.

Back to knitting

All right lets get down to business and get back to knitting.still chugging through the afgan, i call this one modern art, i coplain a lot about the project but in al reality it is flying by, i started this blanket on November 24th and i am now two-thirds done, and you have to figure that in this time i made the belinda wrap from Mason-Dixon Knitting outside the lines, a small rug, and my yearly gift knitting extrvaganza, so in the grand scheme of things it is not taking all that long at all. Last week a started the Pub Crawler from Debbie Stoller's Son of a Sitch 'n' Bitch and i told myself that i can't work on it until i finish Modern art which is so dissappointing because it is a dreamy cable fest and i'm almost to the armhole shaping. The crocheted shawl that i starteed in a foolish moment several monthes ago it is now my upstairs project and with any luck i will be finished by the next century.
